Some of our services
BITT TESTING
We supply equipment, operation, and personnel of a force system to test the safe load of mooring bollards through the use of a calibrated dynamometer, the maximum resistance they can withstand for the safe mooring operation of ships operating in the port.
ISO TANKS INSPECTIONS
INSPECTION, TEST AND REPAIRS ON ISO TANK CONTAINERS
In accordance with the Convention for Safe Containers – CSC and SOLAS IMDG code Chapter 6.7 are subject to 5 yearly periodic inspections and tests along with intermediate 2.5 yearly periodic inspections and tests.
WPS / WQS on pressure vessel appendices are subjected to AWS D.1 / D.2. Tank repairs to be under ASME Secc. IX and subsequent testing subjected to 1.5 times MAWP under our VGS inspector witness along with UT/RX if pressure vessel welding repair was needed.
ASSESMENTS, SURVEY & TRAINING
We provide a wide range of assesments, training and surveys for our clients
PORT SERVICE EQUIPMENT
In Colombia, Law 1a of 91 and the Mintransporte resolution 07726 of March 1, 2016, recognize OICClass>> as a Classification Society the empower to inspect, test and certify the good condition of the port machinery and equipment necessary for the registration and/or renewal of a port operator.
At the end of the inspection and testing, the inspector in charge must observe the metal structures, machinery, electrical components, control, hydraulic, power, signaling, ground movement, lifting and lowering of loads, movement through terminal yards, stacking of containers, pallets and loose cargo in terminal warehouses in search of deformations and permanent defects. If necessary, non-destructive tests may be required and the corresponding recommendations are issued.
The certificate will be valid for one (1) year or until it is revoked and the maintenance program is being applied.
Unless otherwise stipulated, this organization adopts the requirements of ASME B30.5 MOBILE AND LOCOMOTIVE CRANES, for repairs AWS B14 or D14.3 latest edition and the OHS Code (Canada) Part 6 Cranes, Hoists and Lifting Devices.
PORT BITTS
In accordance with Res. 0850 of 2017 MINTRANSPORTE of Colombia, OICCLASS as a classification society will certify force systems to test the safe load of the bitts of the docks through the use of hydraulic force transformed into horizontal tension, dial indicators to determine the bending of the bitts subject to testing. The main objective is to detect through an early test if there is any type of hidden internal construction defect or subsequent damage, or poor installation or damage caused by a ship or other factor that has weakened the contracted conceptual resistance and that in the event of a ship mooring it fails and thus avoid accidents. Dial indicators will be available so that the force system does not exceed the elastic deformation levels of the bitts under test; once the measured bending is close to permanent deformation and close to rupture, the test will be aborted and a repair of reinforcement of the bitt or its anchoring to the dock or to the dock itself will be recommended.
The tension must be raised step by step from 0 + 10 tons, 0 + 20 tons, 0 + 30 tons and so on; simultaneously and monitoring the indicators which will move in just hundredths of a millimeter. If any of them do not return to zero it means that there was slight plastic deformation, if it is very small it can be continued, in the event that it is considerable the port representative will be informed.
